About

Grandview Moon is a studio created by artist Tyler Hodge to share and express artwork, perspectives and concepts using Paintings, Ink and Digital Design. In my studio practice I like to explore interactions between my personal observations, colour theory and juxtaposition.

Having lived in Saint John, NB for the majority of my life, I grew up on a street named 'Grandview Avenue'. In addition to having a passion for being creative and visual arts, I have great love and appreciation for The Moon. I have always looked at the Moon, The Stars and the Sky as a template that changes every night. From this, 'Grandview Moon' was established.

With studies to-date including Foundation Visual Arts at the New Brunswick College of Craft and Design, that entailed courses in Colour Theory, Language of Design, 2D/3D Design, Art History and Drawing from Observation; A large portion of my work is profoundly influenced by minimalism and nature with hopes of invoking a sense of calm and emotion.

Drawing inspiration in some of my art in the form of Romanticism, nature is a source of inspiration and escape; a refuge from the tumult of the modern world. Wild and grandiose landscapes are particularly valued as they embody the power, simplicity and beauty but also its ability to evoke deep emotions in the viewer. These are some of my perspectives, creations and visions.
